Scientific Writer to support a range of research, development, and scientific communication initiatives in the pain sciences sector.
Salary/Hourly Rate: $220k - $225k Annually
Position Overview: The Scientific Writer will be responsible for developing clear, accurate, and compelling scientific content based on complex pain therapeutics research data. This individual will partner with scientific and cross-functional teams to prepare materials for publication, funding opportunities, presentations, and other external and internal communications. This is a remote position with rare travel (reimbursed) to company facilities as needed.
Responsibilities of the Scientific Writer:- Interpret and synthesize scientific literature, research findings, and technical data to support a variety of written deliverables.
- Develop clear, accurate, and well-structured scientific content for diverse audiences.
- Collaborate with subject matter experts and cross-functional stakeholders to gather information and ensure scientific accuracy.
- Support the preparation of scientific manuscripts, presentations, conference materials, reports, proposals, and other research-related communications.
- Translate complex scientific concepts into accessible and impactful written materials while maintaining technical integrity.
- Organize and incorporate scientific data, figures, tables, and supporting materials into final deliverables.
- Manage multiple projects simultaneously while meeting established timelines and quality standards.
- Participate in content review and revision processes, incorporating feedback from internal stakeholders.
Required Experience/Skills for the Scientific Writer:- Professional experience (3 - 6 years) in scientific writing in academia or industry.
- Demonstrated ability to interpret complex scientific information and communicate findings clearly and effectively.
- Strong analytical, critical thinking, and scientific reasoning skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication abilities with exceptional attention to detail.
- Experience working with scientific literature, research data, technical documentation, and/or scientific publications.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Strong organizational and project management skills with the ability to manage competing priorities.
- Familiarity with scientific data analysis and visualization tools such as R, SAS, GraphPad Prism, or JMP.
- Familiarity with pain therapeutics/pharmacology.
Preferred Experience/Skills for the Scientific Writer:- Experience developing scientific content for a variety of formats, including publications, presentations, reports, proposals, and technical documents.
- Experience working with multidisciplinary teams and senior scientific leadership.
- Familiarity with the scientific publication process, including manuscript preparation, submission, and revision.
- Experience supporting research communications within the life sciences, biotechnology, pharmaceutical, healthcare, or related industries.
Education Requirements:- A Master's or Ph.D. degree in a Life Science, Pharmaceutical Science, Biology, Chemistry, Neuroscience, Pharmacology, or related scientific discipline is required.
