Establish and maintain database files and progress reports for studies, projects, and programs.
Perform signal processing on biophysiological measures such as EEG or PPG.
Perform scientific literature searches, identification, and retrieval.
Perform administrative duties such as:
Developing protocol manuals and data collection instruments.
Responding to requests and questions from individuals, institutions, government agencies, and funding agencies.
Assists with preparing and submitting grants, manuscripts, technical reports, and presentations, including editing and formatting documents. Distributes manuscripts and reports to all scientific collaborators as required.
Collaborate with other research staff, investigators, referring providers, and scientific leads both within the assigned research site and across other research sites as needed for recruitment, best practices, training, and other purposes, as needed.
Trains and supervises laboratory technicians, as needed.
May perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned or directed by the supervisor. This may include attendance of and participation in required training for the role.

This position will be in support of the Complex Exposure Threats Center of Excellence (CETCE) at the VA Medical Center in Washington, DC. This research position will support the center's human subjects research portfolio focused on environmental exposures and health outcomes, by focusing on managing and implementing a health monitoring research protocol and contributing to a collaborative project. Applicants who can support and independently oversee research methodology implementation, achieving clearly defined scientific objectives, will be given priority. The selected candidate will lead and coordinate with staff to ensure successful project execution, including meeting milestones related to data sharing and sponsor reporting. Responsibilities include ensuring the accuracy of data collection, analysis, and interpretation to maintain high standards of quality and integrity. Adherence to research protocols and data accuracy is paramount, including the cleaning and scoring of measures for comprehensive statistical analysis and modeling. The Scientist I will provide oversight and review for junior team members, fostering a collaborative environment. The role also involves coordinating with internal and external project collaborators to ensure the seamless integration of multidisciplinary efforts. Additionally, the successful candidate will be responsive to project timelines, resources, and ensure adherence to regulatory and ethical standards.
