  • Designs and develops the systematic review and evidence map protocol, including defining the scope, research questions, inclusion/exclusion criteria, and search strategy, in collaboration with the research team.
  • Conducts comprehensive and systematic literature searches across relevant databases (e.g., PubMed, Scopus, Embase) and gray literature sources to identify DOW women's health research published over the past 10 years.
  • Independently performs title and abstract screening, and full-text review, adhering to established eligibility criteria and documenting the selection process (e.g., using a PRISMA flow diagram).
  • Develops and refines data extraction forms and systematically extracts key information (e.g., study design, population, interventions, outcomes, funding source) from included studies for charting and synthesis.
  • Contributes to the development of an evidence map structure and visual representation to characterize the scope, volume, and characteristics of DOW women's health research.
  • Analyzes and synthesizes extracted data to identify research gaps, trends, and areas of high research activity.
  • Leads the drafting of the systematic review and evidence map manuscript for peer-reviewed publication.
  • Presents research findings to stakeholders, including the USU Military Women's Health Research Program, collaborators, and at national scientific meetings.
  • Assists in preparing progress reports, final reports, and other project documentation for the funding agency.
  • Mentors junior research team in the planning and execution of the project.
  • May perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned or directed by the supervisor.

HJF is seeking a Scientist I - Women's Health Evidence Map, to develop and conduct research in collaboration with other scientific and technical staff. Exercise technical discretion in the design, execution, and interpretation of results that contribute to project strategies. Provide training and guidance for lower-level Research Associates and staff.

This is a part-time position for 20 hours/week.

This position will be in support of the USU Military Women's Health Research Program Evidence Map Project. The Leveraging Evidence to Advance the Health of Military Women project's goals are to create a comprehensive evidence map of Active-Duty Service Women (ADSW) health literature since 2015.
