We are seeking a Scientist with one of our pharmaceutical clients in Irvine, CA.
Job Details:
This position will support formulation and manufacturing process development for sterile liquid pharmaceutical products, including solutions, emulsions, and suspensions. The role will involve hands-on laboratory experimentation, analytical characterization, data analysis, and technical documentation.

- Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–5:00 PM
- Work Environment: Onsite
This position will support formulation and manufacturing process development for sterile liquid pharmaceutical products, including solutions, emulsions, and suspensions. The role will involve hands-on laboratory experimentation, analytical characterization, data analysis, and technical documentation.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct laboratory experiments supporting the development of sterile liquid dosage forms and manufacturing processes.
- Execute formulation and manufacturing process development experiments and independently plan experiments when needed.
- Perform analytical and characterization testing, including pH, osmolality, viscosity/rheology, turbidity, particle size, and physical appearance.
- Perform hands-on HPLC and UPLC analysis using detectors such as UV, PDA, and RI.
- Support sterilization processes for liquid drug products, including filtration and autoclaving.
- Analyze and interpret experimental data and apply statistical techniques as needed.
- Accurately document experiments, results, and conclusions in electronic laboratory notebooks while maintaining data integrity.
- Prepare technical reports and communicate experimental results and recommendations to team members.
- Maintain laboratory equipment and instrumentation to ensure operational readiness.
- Collaborate with cross-functional team members and participate in project and group meetings to present and discuss data and next steps.
- Follow all applicable company, safety, quality, and regulatory requirements.
- Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Pharmacy, or a related scientific discipline with 3–5 years of relevant industry experience; or Master's degree with 2+ years of relevant industry experience.
- Experience with pharmaceutical formulation and manufacturing process development, particularly sterile liquid dosage forms, is highly desirable.
- Hands-on experience with HPLC and UPLC.
- Experience with analytical characterization techniques such as pH, osmolality, viscosity/rheology, turbidity, particle size, and physical appearance.
- Experience with sterilization techniques, including filtration and/or autoclaving, is preferred.
- Strong data analysis, technical writing, and report-writing skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, and statistical software.
- Knowledge of fundamental statistical applications is preferred.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to work effectively in a collaborative team environment.
