Aquinas Consulting is currently looking to fill a Scientist II job focused on pharmaceutical research and development initiatives. In this role, you will support and execute laboratory studies, analyze complex scientific data, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to advance drug development programs. The ideal candidate will bring hands-on laboratory experience, strong analytical capabilities, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, regulated environment.
Scientist II Job Responsibilities:
· Design, execute, and document laboratory experiments in support of drug development and research initiatives
· Analyze and interpret experimental data, ensuring accuracy, integrity, and alignment with project objectives
· Collaborate with cross-functional teams including R&D, Quality, and Regulatory to support program milestones
· Maintain detailed records in compliance with GMP, GLP, and other regulatory standards
· Contribute to method development, validation, and continuous improvement of laboratory processes
· Initiates and completes routine in vitro studies in an independent, efficient, and timely manner with minimal supervision; interprets results, proposes next steps, and troubleshoots effectively
· Assists in the design and execution of non-routine cell-based in vitro and biochemical assays; conducts exploratory experiments with minimal supervision
· Performs literature searches and extracts relevant insights from scientific publications and established protocols
· Independently operates laboratory equipment and is responsible for maintenance and troubleshooting
· Communicates scientific work effectively both orally and in writing; contributes to protocols, procedures, and technical reports, and supports scientific documentation
· Ensures data integrity and ethical handling of results; maintains accurate and up-to-date electronic lab notebooks
· Complies with all regulatory and safety requirements, maintaining proper documentation in accordance with SOPs and company policies
Qualifications:
· Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Chemistry, Biology, Biochemistry, or a related scientific discipline
· 2–5 years of relevant industry experience in pharmaceutical or biotech environments
· Hands-on experience with laboratory techniques, instrumentation, and data analysis tools
· Working knowledge of GMP/GLP and regulatory requirements within the pharmaceutical industry
· Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and ability to manage multiple priorities
