    Our client, a world leader in biotechnology and gene therapy, is looking for an “Scientist II – Oligonuleotide Synthesis” based in South San Francisco, CA.

     

    Job Duration: Long Term Contract (Possibility Of Extension)

    Pay Rate : $53/hr on W2

    We are seeking a Scientist II to join the Nucleic Acid Design and Discovery (NADD) team. This role focuses on oligonucleotide therapeutics discovery, supporting RNAi-based research through synthesis, characterization, and collaboration across therapeutic areas.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Design and execute oligonucleotide synthesis and purification workflows.
    • Perform HPLC and mass spectrometry analysis for characterization and impurity profiling.
    • Support RNAi and nucleic acid therapeutic discovery across neuroscience, immunology, and oncology programs.
    • Develop and scale up synthesis of lead oligonucleotide candidates for preclinical studies.
    • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate chemistry and biology data.
    • Maintain and troubleshoot lab equipment (e.g., oligo synthesizers, HPLC systems).
    • Conduct literature reviews and contribute to experimental design and strategy.


    Qualifications:

    • BS/MS in Organic Chemistry or related field.
    • Hands-on experience with oligonucleotide synthesis, purification, and characterization.
    • Experience with automated oligo synthesizers, HPLC, and mass spectrometry.
    • Understanding of RNAi, nucleic acid therapeutics, and modification chemistries preferred.
    • Industry experience in biotech/pharma R&D is a plus.
