Job Summary

Sigma Inc is seeking a highly skilled Scientist II – Image Analysis & Digital Pathology to join our team in Ridgefield, CT. This role focuses on developing advanced image analysis pipelines for biomedical research, including histology and multiplex imaging.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and optimize image analysis pipelines for both 2D and 3D biomedical images
• Perform quantitative analysis of:
  • Histology
  • IHC (Immunohistochemistry)
  • IF (Immunofluorescence)
  • Multiplex imaging datasets
• Apply machine learning and classical image processing techniques for:
  • Feature extraction
  • Segmentation
  • Classification
• Integrate and utilize image analysis platforms such as:
  • HALO
  • Visiopharm
  • QuPath
  • CellProfiler
• Collaborate with pathologists, biologists, and data scientists to define analytical endpoints
• Validate image-derived biomarkers and ensure scientific rigor
• Document workflows and ensure reproducibility and compliance
• Support data visualization and reporting for scientific insights
• Enable cross-lab collaboration through algorithm and image transfer

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree with 3+ years of experience, OR
• Master’s degree in a related scientific discipline (or equivalent experience)
• Strong programming skills in:
  • Python
  • R
• Proven experience applying machine learning techniques in biomedical or pathology imaging
• Experience in:
  • Cell image analysis
  • Marker quantification
  • Multiplex IHC / digital pathology
• Hands-on experience with tools such as:
  • HALO AI
  • Visiopharm
  • QuPath
  • CellProfiler
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and independent thinking skills

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in tumor immunology and histopathology
• Prior experience in biotech or pharmaceutical industry
• Familiarity with biomarker validation and translational research
