Overview
Leading pharmaceutical company looking for an experienced Scientist III. Ideal candidates should have a Master’s Degree with 3+ years of related scientific experience, or Bachelor’s Degree with 7+ years of experience including Protein purification experience. non-PhD applicant required.
Responsibilities
- Conduct protein purification and analytics to support development of protein biotherapeutics in a fast-paced research environment
- Design and execute protein purification and analytical assays, analyzing and interpreting data to understand protein attributes and stability
- Plan, coordinate, and perform purification of biotherapeutic proteins using chromatography methods such as Affinity capture, SEC, CEX, AEX, MMC, and HIC
- Troubleshoot complex systems through process development to optimize workflows
- Perform analytical techniques including HPLC-SEC, SDS-PAGE, CGE, DLS to assess protein purity, stability, and quality
- Evaluate new technologies and process changes to improve productivity, quality, and consistency of platform processes
- Develop novel analytical methodologies and assess new technologies to enhance team capabilities
- Contribute to research on protein biochemistry related to structure, stability, dynamics, and function of therapeutic proteins
- Provide support for other scientists in biotherapeutics discovery and perform additional tasks as assigned
- Improve data quality, throughput, and automation strategies to streamline operations
- Maintain compliance with all regulations, SOPs, and policies, ensuring proper record-keeping
Requirements
- Master’s Degree from an accredited institution with 3+ years of related scientific experience, or Bachelor’s Degree with 7+ years of experience in a related field; non-PhD applicant required.
- Protein purification experience is required
- Thorough understanding of cell culture basics and hands-on experience in mammalian cell culture and aseptic techniques
- Strong attention to detail and excellent organizational skills
- Ability to learn quickly, adapt, and work effectively in a fast-paced environment
- Knowledge of automation/HTP antibody expression is a plus
- Ability to work in plate-based formats (24 well, 96 well)
- Knowledge of DNA and molecular biology, including basic DNA quality assessments
- Excellent troubleshooting, multi-tasking, and communication skills
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment
