Position Overview
Stand-By Personnel is seeking a dependable SCO Puller / Loader to join a fast-paced third-shift warehouse operation in Oklahoma City. This position is responsible for locating material that has already been pulled and staged by the second-shift team, verifying orders with handheld scanners, and loading materials onto the correct trailers for next-day delivery.
This is a hands-on material-handling position requiring experience with sit-down forklifts and overhead cranes. Stand-up side loader forklift experience is strongly preferred. Accuracy is critical, as associates must ensure the correct materials are loaded onto the correct trailers before shipments leave the facility.
Required Experience & Skills
Previous forklift experience required
Sit-down forklift experience required
Overhead crane experience required
Stand-up side loader forklift experience strongly preferred
Comfortable using handheld scanners to identify and verify materials
Previous warehouse, steel, or industrial experience preferred
Ability to safely work around large and heavy materials
Strong attention to detail and order accuracy
Ability to follow loading instructions and warehouse procedures
Strong commitment to workplace and equipment safety
Dependable attendance and ability to work the full third-shift schedule
Must pass required background check and drug screening
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Locate materials pulled and staged by the second-shift warehouse team
Identify the correct materials for scheduled outgoing orders
Use handheld scanners to locate and verify materials
Confirm order and material information before loading
Stage materials for efficient trailer loading
Ensure materials are loaded onto the correct trailers for next-day delivery
Operate sit-down forklifts to move and load materials
Operate stand-up side loader forklifts when trained and qualified
Use overhead cranes to move large or heavy materials
Verify completed loads for accuracy
Communicate with team members regarding missing, incorrect, or questionable materials
Help ensure outgoing orders are completed accurately and on schedule
Maintain clean and organized staging and loading areas
Follow all company warehouse and equipment safety procedures
Perform additional loading and material-handling duties as assigned
Forklift & Equipment Responsibilities
Candidates will work with multiple types of warehouse equipment, including:
Sit-down forklifts experience required
Overhead cranes experience required
Stand-up side loader forklifts experience strongly preferred
Handheld scanners
Trailers and loading equipment
Other industrial material-handling equipment
Candidates must demonstrate safe equipment operation and maintain awareness of surrounding employees, materials, and equipment throughout the shift.
Material Verification & Scanning
Use handheld scanners to identify staged materials
Match materials to the appropriate orders and trailers
Verify product and order information before loading
Identify discrepancies before materials are placed onto trailers
Communicate missing or incorrect material to appropriate personnel
Help maintain accurate material movement throughout third-shift operations
Trailer Loading Responsibilities
Review materials scheduled for next-day delivery
Determine the correct trailer for each order
Safely move materials into loading position
Load materials using forklifts and overhead cranes as required
Verify each load before completion
Help maintain organized and efficient trailer-loading operations
Ensure orders are ready for scheduled next-day deliveries
Preferred Qualifications
Steel warehouse or metal distribution experience
Previous Puller / Loader experience
Stand-up side loader forklift experience
Extensive sit-down forklift experience
Overhead crane material-handling experience
Trailer-loading experience
Handheld scanner experience
Shipping or distribution experience
Experience handling large, long, or heavy industrial materials
Screening Requirements
Candidates must be able to successfully complete:
Background check
Drug screening
Physical Requirements
Ability to stand and walk for extended periods throughout the shift
Frequent bending, reaching, lifting, carrying, pushing, and pulling
Ability to safely handle and work around large and heavy materials
Ability to safely enter and exit forklifts throughout the workday
Ability to operate overhead crane controls safely and accurately
Comfortable performing physically active warehouse work throughout an overnight shift
Ability to safely work around forklifts, cranes, trailers, and industrial materials while wearing required PPE
