• Minimum 1 year of general labor experience, preferably in scrap metal recycling, warehousing, construction, manufacturing, or related industries
• Ability to work in a fast-paced outdoor and warehouse environment
• Ability to stand and walk for extended periods, including shifts up to 12 hours
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds regularly
• Comfortable working outdoors in varying weather conditions, including heat
• Strong attendance, dependability, and ability to work independently
• Ability to prioritize tasks and adapt to changing work demands
• Forklift experience preferred but not required
• Willingness to work overtime, evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed
• Bilingual skills preferred
• Candidates residing within 50 miles of the facility preferred
• Ability to pass background screening and pre-employment drug testing, including hair follicle testing
• Commitment to following company and OSHA safety standards
• Receive, inspect, weigh, and grade incoming scrap metal materials
• Enter accurate material codes into company systems and direct materials to the appropriate warehouse locations
• Assist customers by explaining accepted and non-accepted materials and applying deductions when necessary
• Inspect incoming loads and identify contamination or prohibited materials
• Sort, move, and handle scrap materials throughout the warehouse and yard
• Operate a forklift and other material handling equipment safely or complete company-provided training
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment through sweeping, shoveling, and general housekeeping
• Attend safety meetings and comply with all company and OSHA safety requirements
• Cross-train in multiple operational areas and assist wherever needed to support facility operations
