We are seeking an experienced Screw Machinist to set up, operate, and troubleshoot six‑ and eight‑spindle automatic screw machines to produce high‑volume, precision‑machined components. This role supports production runs ranging from short to extremely high volume while maintaining tight tolerances, efficiency, and quality standards.

Job Details

Key Responsibilities:
Set up, operate, and adjust multi‑spindle screw machines for precision production
Run six‑ and eight‑spindle machines including Acme, Wickman, Davenport, and New Britain
Perform tool changes, adjust cams, tooling, feeds, and speeds to optimize cycle time and part quality
Read and interpret blueprints, job travelers, and specifications
Measure and inspect parts using micrometers, calipers, bore gages, and comparators
Maintain part quality and consistency during production runs from 2,000 to 2,000,000+ pieces
Troubleshoot machining issues including tooling wear, dimensional variation, and finish problems
Work with bar stock ranging from 1/16” to 2‑1/8” diameter (1.6mm – 54mm)
Perform routine machine maintenance and ensure safe, efficient operation
Document setup changes, offsets, and process improvements as needed
Collaborate with supervision, tooling, and quality teams to meet production goals

Required Skills & Qualifications:
Proven experience as a Screw Machinist / Multi‑Spindle Machinist
Hands‑on experience with six‑ and eight‑spindle automatic screw machines
Strong background running Acme, Wickman, Davenport, and/or New Britain machines
Ability to independently perform machine setups and production runs
Solid understanding of high‑volume precision machining
Proficiency with inspection tools and quality standards
Strong mechanical aptitude and problem‑solving skills
Ability to work from written instructions, blueprints, and work orders
Dependable, safety‑focused, and quality‑driven mindset
