Lighthouse Technology Services is partnering with our client to fill their Scrum Master position! This is a 12 month contract and will be hybrid in Buffalo, NY. This role will be a W2 employee of Lighthouse Technology Services. No C2C or subcontracting arrangements will be considered.
What You'll Be Doing:
Lead and mentor multiple cross-functional agile teams through servant-leadership, applying Scrum, Kanban, and Extreme Programming (XP) frameworks to drive team effectiveness and continuous improvement
Drive enterprise-wide change management and scaling initiatives, leveraging systems thinking to help the organization mature its agile adoption and effectiveness
Facilitate all agile ceremonies including sprint planning, daily stand-ups, backlog refinement, sprint reviews, and retrospectives to ensure team alignment and productivity
Coach teams on advanced agile practices including user stories, story mapping, ATDD, TDD, continuous integration, and pairing to create high-performing, self-organizing teams
Apply advanced emotional intelligence and coaching techniques to foster an environment of collaboration, conflict resolution, transparency, and psychological safety
Remove impediments and address blocking issues beyond the team's authority by coordinating with other teams and stakeholders to keep teams focused on their goals
Utilize data analytics and information radiators to visualize workflow, track metrics, and communicate team progress and impediments to stakeholders
Mentor and develop less experienced Scrum Masters, curating team-level coaching content and sharing best practices across the agile community
Collaborate with other Agile Leaders to increase the effectiveness of agile application across the organization and support scaling efforts
What You'll Need to Have:
4+ years of experience as a member of an agile team, including a minimum of 2 years as a Scrum Master (or 8+ years combined higher education and/or work experience with 4+ years on agile teams)
Deep knowledge of Agile and Lean principles and practices, with experience applying Scrum, Kanban, and XP in real-world environments
Proven experience with enterprise change management and scaling agile practices across large organizations
Strong systems thinking capabilities with the ability to apply data analytics to assess team performance and drive continuous improvement
Advanced emotional intelligence and coaching skills, with demonstrated ability to mentor teams and individuals toward self-organization and high performance
Experience in at least two technology team roles (e.g., project manager, UX, business analyst, developer, testing, deployment)
Exceptional communication and facilitation skills with proven ability to lead through influence rather than direct authority
Bachelor's degree preferred, or equivalent combination of education and experience
