JOB SUMMARY:
The Scrum Master I will support the agile business transformation while facilitating the Scrum methodology that allows the team to self-organize and make changes quickly, in accordance with agile principles.
This role will support their team in activities that include meeting scheduling, team member coordination, documentation, and will aid support in all scrum team ceremonies including sprint planning, retrospectives, daily stand ups, and sprint demos.
The Scrum Master I will utilize WorkFront to manage the intake of all work requests and associated deliverables, risks, issues and blockers to improve consistency, predictability, and efficiency of the organization project delivery and agile maturity. This role also supports data governance across projects and campaigns that enable reporting and data-driven decisioning.
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:
Agile/Scrum Practices
- Leads Digital Production by facilitating agile ceremonies including sprint planning, retrospectives, and sprint demos.
- Consults with the Program Managers, Project Managers and Scrum Masters to validate and communicate team priorities, project and campaign timelines and deliverable readiness.
- Removes impediments with the goal to help the team reach an optimum, sustainable velocity.
- Leads the team on self-organizing to fill in the intentional gaps left in the Agile/Scrum frameworks.
- Fosters accountability, transparency, and regularity in status updates.
- Supports project management duties, as needed by the business.
Communication/Collaboration
- Supports Program Manager, Project Managers and Scrum Masters with communicating and ensuring alignment of priorities with stakeholders within the team.
- Assists with internal and external communication, improving transparency, and radiating the right information the teams need at the right time.
- Removes impediments or guide the team to remove impediments by finding the right personnel to remove the blocker.
- Executes upon and contributes to process improvements and best practices across PMO to support delivery excellence and support with the agile transformation.
Metrics / Reporting / Miscellaneous
- Aids the Program Manager, Project Manager, and Scrum Masters in developing and maintaining agile team metrics reporting, including but not limited to velocity, capacity, and speed to market.
- Understands and actively participates in Environmental, Health & Safety responsibilities by following established UO policy, procedures, training and team member involvement activities.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
EDUCATION:
- Bachelor’s degree in business, Marketing, Information Technology or Communication.
EXPERIENCE:
- 1+ years of project management experience, scrum experience;
- or equivalent combination of education and experience.
CERTIFICATIONS, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS:
- Preferred: CSM or PMI Certification for Scrum Master
