Scrum Master III
Salt Lake City, Utah (Onsite Tues-Thurs) office open 7am-7pm
6-12- month contract to hire
Pay Rate: $58.00 - $63.00per hr.
Our client needs a Scrum Master who serves as a facilitator and Agile coach for up to two development teams. The Scrum Master 3 will support the home improvement finance segment, providing consumer financing via commercial contractors for projects like roofing, flooring, and home renovations. This is not a traditional tactical Scrum Master role. We need a visionary strategic coach who goes beyond facilitating ceremonies to drive meaningful Agile maturity, connect teams to the broader organizational strategy, and help shape "where we're going tomorrow and beyond.”
The ideal candidate is a proactive change agent who builds strong foundations across teams and the wider organization rather than managing only to their own skill set or running regimented processes.
Responsibilities
- Facilitate Agile/Scrum ceremonies including Daily Standups, Sprint Planning, Sprint Reviews, and Retrospectives while coaching teams on Scrum best practices, Agile maturity, and continuous improvement.
- Remove impediments, drive consistent execution and roadmap delivery, and help teams transition from tactical execution to strategic, forward-looking delivery aligned with organizational goals.
- Collaborate with Product Owners, stakeholders, and cross-functional teams to ensure alignment, transparency, and effective communication across initiatives.
- Manage and optimize Jira and Confluence through dashboarding, reporting, automation, documentation, and team performance visibility to support scalable Agile delivery.
- Ensure delivery processes and team practices align with regulatory, compliance, and banking-related requirements where applicable.
Required Skills:
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience Six (6) years of relevant business/development support, user story creation, writing, and estimation
- Experience: 3–5+ years as a Scrum Master supporting software/tech delivery teams.
- Certification: Professional Scrum Master (PSM I or PSM II) or Certified Scrum Master (CSM). Exceptional candidates without certification may be considered.
- Jira Expertise: Advanced / very strong daily proficiency required
- Board configuration, workflows, automation rules, rich filters, advanced dashboarding, and reporting (velocity, burndown, control charts, cumulative flow diagrams, etc.).
- Domain Knowledge: Financial services / banking background strongly preferred (retail banking, core banking, fintech, investment banking, or central banking experience). Regulatory familiarity is a significant advantage for faster ramp-up.
- Visionary and strategic thinker who actively connects day-to-day work to the bigger organizational picture.
- Proven ability to move beyond pure facilitation into real coaching and organizational enablement.
- Proactive, adaptive, and forward-looking — avoids becoming stagnant or overly regimented.
- Strong influencer who can challenge teams constructively and drive meaningful change.
- Excellent collaboration skills with a servant-leadership mindset.
