Summary

Our client is seeking a Scrum Master to facilitate and guide a development team's Agile process, supporting a security-focused technology organization. This role will act as the primary point of coordination between the Security Team and the broader business, ensuring requests and updates flow smoothly in both directions while removing blockers that could slow delivery.

Responsibilities

• Facilitate daily stand-ups, sprint planning, sprint reviews, and retrospectives.
• Serve as the primary point of coordination for a small security team, managing incoming requests and outgoing updates.
• Collaborate with stakeholders across security, application, and business teams to gather and clarify requirements.
• Work with the Product Owner to manage the product backlog and prioritize tasks.
• Remove impediments and blockers to ensure smooth project progress.
• Foster a collaborative, self-organizing team environment.
• Ensure the team adheres to Scrum principles and practices.
• Track and report on project metrics and progress.
• Coach and mentor team members on Agile practices and principles.
• Coordinate with global and offshore teams including aligning sprint ceremonies across time zones.
• Utilize Azure DevOps for planning, tracking, and collaboration.

Requirements

• Experience as a Scrum Master or in a similar role.
• Proficiency in Agile methodologies and the Scrum Framework.
• Excellent communication and leadership skills.
• Experience with Azure DevOps (strong Jira experience also considered).
• Ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
• Coachable, team-oriented approach; comfortable working with global/offshore teams and adjusted hours.

Preferred

• Background in security, application security, IAM, or compliance environments.
• Familiarity with other Agile frameworks (Kanban, SAFe).
• Experience with Power BI metric reporting.
• Strong problem-solving and conflict-resolution skills.

This is a 12-month Contract opportunity with extensions with our Kansas City, MO client.
