Job Title: Scrum Master
Location: Phoenix, AZ
Duration: 9 MOnths

Position DescriptionThe Scrum Master serves as a servant leader and agile coach for one or more project teams, facilitating Scrum events and removing impediments so the team can deliver value effectively. The Scrum Master position promotes and supports the adoption of agile and Scrum principles, practices, and rules across the Judicial Branch, working closely with the Product Owner, development team, and stakeholders to continuously improve team performance and delivery outcomes. Skill in: • Facilitating meetings and group discussions to drive consensus and keep teams focused on outcomes. • Using agile project management tools, such as Azure DevOps or Jira, to manage sprints and backlogs. • Coaching and mentoring team members on agile practices and self-organization. • Identifying and resolving conflict within teams and across stakeholder groups. Ability to: • Foster a collaborative team environment that encourages transparency, accountability, and continuous improvement. • Communicate information and ideas, both verbally and in writing, in a way that is appropriate to the needs of the audience. • Relate on the appropriate level to business staff, technical staff, and end users, and influence without direct authority.

Experience PreferredPreferred education and/or experience: Experience serving as a Scrum Master or agile coach within a government or judicial branch technology environment. Experience supporting multiple concurrent Scrum teams or working within a scaled agile framework (SAFe).
Education RequiredMinimum education and/or experience: Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field and two (2) years of professional experience facilitating agile or Scrum teams, or serving in a project coordination or Scrum Master capacity. Job related work experience may substitute for educational qualifications on a year for year basis. Specialized training, certifications, and/or other special requirements: Certified Scrum Master (CSM) or Professional Scrum Master (PSM) certification preferred.

Additional InformationSelected Candidate's background will be run by JBAZMC. Fingerprinted included. 3041 and 3042 same manager, do not submit same candidate to both requisitions. Hybrid role. Interviews will be in-person, no exceptions. This position operates primarily in an office environment and may include a hybrid schedule consistent with Judicial Branch policy. While performing the duties of this job, the employee may need to communicate clearly, perceive details of objects that are close by, and maintain various physical positions for extended periods, such as sitting, standing, or walking. The job may involve using hands for tasks such as typing, handling objects, or operating tools, as well as reaching with hands and arms. Occasionally, the employee may be required to move or lift objects weighing up to 20 pounds. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform these functions.
