Scrum Master

Location: Sterling Heights, MI
Employment Type: Contract
Pay Range: $50-$56/hour

About the Role

Our client is seeking a Scrum Master to facilitate Agile development, coach Scrum teams, and remove obstacles to support on-time delivery of vehicle electronic systems. You will help teams apply Scrum principles, improve performance, manage delivery risks, and collaborate with program leadership and stakeholders in a fast-paced engineering environment.

What You Will Do

• Facilitate and support Scrum events, including Sprint Planning, Daily Scrum, Sprint Reviews, and Sprint Retrospectives.
• Coach Scrum teams on Agile practices, Scrum principles, self-organization, cross-functional collaboration, and effective communication.
• Help teams reach a high-performing level by identifying areas of strength and opportunities for improvement.
• Ensure Scrum is understood and that teams follow established Scrum practices and guidelines.
• Identify and remove team impediments, collaborating with other Scrum Masters and organizational stakeholders to improve team effectiveness.
• Work with Scrum teams, internal stakeholders, and external stakeholders to support decision-making and project or product objectives.
• Work closely with the Product Owner and Release Train Engineer (RTE) on backlog refinement and prioritization.
• Monitor sprint progress, team performance, and delivery metrics.
• Provide clear and concise updates to leadership and stakeholders.
• Help maintain project timelines and identify potential risks.
• Support Agile teams primarily working on Business as Usual (BAU) activities, as well as department initiatives and applicable corporate projects.
• Collaborate with Agile Coaches and other Scrum Masters to continuously develop Scrum and Agile practices.
• Contribute to the advancement and improvement of Agile practices throughout the organization.
• Apply continuous improvement processes and methodologies.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

What You Bring to the Table

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
• 5-7 years of project development experience.
• At least 2 years of Scrum Master experience.
• Scrum Master certification such as CSM, PSM, or equivalent.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite applications.
• Experience with Agile tools such as Jira, Azure, or DevSecOps.
• Experience with Agile, Continuous Integration, and Continuous Deployment concepts.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong organizational and interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively across functions and organizational levels.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and projects while working within tight deadlines.
• Ability to work overtime when required.

What Sets You Apart

• Experience working with safety-critical or real-time systems.
• Previous experience supporting ground combat vehicle programs.
• Experience working in prototype shops, laboratories, manufacturing environments, or engineering offices.

Clearance Requirements

• This position may require eligibility to obtain a U.S. security clearance. Non-U.S. citizens may not be eligible to obtain a security clearance.

Additional Requirements

• Ability to climb on and off, work in, and work around military vehicles.
• Must be able to pass an ASR (Anthropometric Size Requirement) test for confined-space access.
