    Description

Description Have you ever ordered a product on Amazon and wondered how it got to you so fast? What if you could build the AI-powered systems that make that happen - and make it faster, cheaper, and more sustainable? Watch this video to learn more about our organization, SCOT: http://bit.ly/amazon-scot Amazon's Supply Chain Optimization Technologies (SCOT) organization is responsible for the end-to-end systems that plan, optimize, and execute the movement of billions of packages across the world's most complex logistics network. We build real-time, intelligent, and fully automated systems that touch every aspect of the delivery experience - from the moment a customer clicks "Buy" to the package arriving at their door. What you'll work on: - You'll join a team within SCOT that's pushing the boundaries of what's possible with AI and algorithms in transportation: - AI-Powered Network Automation - Build agentic AI systems that continuously monitor, optimize, and autonomously evolve one of the world's largest transportation networks. You'll work on systems that generate, validate, and deploy network configurations using large language models and advanced automation - moving toward a future where the network intelligently adapts itself. - Route Optimization at Scale - Design and implement graph algorithms that find optimal routes across a massive, multi-modal transportation network - optimizing simultaneously for speed, cost, and environmental sustainability. You'll solve multi-variable optimization problems at a scale few companies in the world operate at. - Scalable Distributed Systems - Build highly available, low-latency services that process millions of decisions in real-time, powering the backbone of Amazon's transportation planning and execution What we're looking for: - Strong foundations in data structures, algorithms, and system design - Experience with or passion for: graph algorithms, optimization, AI/ML systems, or generative AI - Ability to break down ambiguous, complex problems into elegant, shippable solutions - Comfort operating in a fast-paced environment where you own your systems end-to-end - Excellent communication skills and a track record of raising the engineering bar on your team Basic Qualifications - 3+ years of non-internship professional software development experience - 2+ years of non-internship design or architecture (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience - 1+ years of software development engineer or related occupational experience - 1+ years of designing and developing large-scale, multi-tiered, multi-threaded, embedded or distributed software applications, tools, systems, and services using: C#, C++, Java, or Perl experience - 1+ years of Object Oriented Design experience - Bachelor's degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related field - Experience programming with at least one software programming language Preferred Qualifications - 3+ years of full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations experience - Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent Amazon is an equal opportunity employer and does not discriminate on the basis of protected veteran status, disability, or other legally protected status. About Company

At Amazon, we don’t wait for the next big idea to present itself. We envision the shape of impossible things and then we boldly make them reality. So far, this mindset has helped us achieve some incredible things. Let’s build new systems, challenge the status quo, and design the world we want to live in. We believe the work you do here will be the best work of your life.

Wherever you are in your career exploration, Amazon likely has an opportunity for you. Our research scientists and engineers shape the future of natural language understanding with Alexa. Fulfillment center associates around the globe send customer orders from our warehouses to doorsteps. Product managers set feature requirements, strategy, and marketing messages for brand new customer experiences. And as we grow, we’ll add jobs that haven’t been invented yet.

    It’s Always Day 1
At Amazon, it’s always “Day 1.” Now, what does this mean and why does it matter? It means that our approach remains the same as it was on Amazon’s very first day – to make smart, fast decisions, stay nimble, invent, and stay focused on delighting our customers. In our 2016 shareholder letter, Amazon CEO Jeff Bezos shared his thoughts on how to keep up a Day 1 company mindset. “Staying in Day 1 requires you to experiment patiently, accept failures, plant seeds, protect saplings, and double down when you see customer delight,” he wrote. “A customer-obsessed culture best creates the conditions where all of that can happen.” You can read the full letter here

    Our Leadership Principles
Our Leadership Principles help us keep a Day 1 mentality. They aren’t just a pretty inspirational wall hanging. Amazonians use them, every day, whether they’re discussing ideas for new projects, deciding on the best solution for a customer’s problem, or interviewing candidates.
