Job Description

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Box Office Operations

  • Assist patrons with ticket purchases, exchanges, and will-call pickup.
  • Operate ticketing software and point-of-sale systems.
  • Process credit card transactions in accordance with PCI compliance standards.
  • Answer patron questions regarding performances, seating, accessibility, and venue policies.
  • Maintain accurate sales and attendance records.
  • Assist with performance settlement and end-of-day reporting.

House Management

  • Serve as the primary student front-of-house representative during assigned performances.
  • Coordinate and supervise student ushers and greeters.
  • Monitor audience flow, seating, and lobby operations.
  • Assist with opening and closing procedures for the venue.
  • Ensure patron safety and compliance with venue policies.
  • Respond professionally to patron concerns and escalate issues when necessary.

Audience Services

  • Welcome and assist patrons.
  • Support accessibility accommodations and ADA services.
  • Distribute programs and event materials.
  • Manage late seating and audience movement during performances.
  • Provide exceptional customer service throughout the patron experience.

Event Operations

  • Assist with concession and merchandise operations as assigned.
  • Support special events, receptions, and donor activities.
  • Participate in pre-show staff briefings and post-show reports.
  • Assist with venue setup, breakdown, and front-of-house resets.

Qualifications

  • Strong customer service and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to remain calm and professional in fast-paced environments.
  • Reliable, punctual, and detail-oriented.
  • Comfortable working evenings, weekends, and holidays as required.
  • Interest in arts administration, event management, hospitality, or theatre operations preferred.

Supervision

Reports to the House Manager, Box Office Coordinator, and/or Director of Programming and Venues.

For degrees earned outside of the U.S., a copy of your education equivalency, conducted by a nationally recognized evaluation service, must be included in your application.
