The Citadel, The Military College of South Carolina is accepting applications for a part-time Seamstress.
The ideal candidate will have knowledge of industrial sewing machines, hand sewing techniques, installing patches, reconditioning uniforms, and performing alterations.
Responsibilities will include:
- Performing alterations on trousers
- Basic changes on coats to include sewing on buttons, hooks, rank chevrons, and class strips
- Assisting with mending tears and rips in clothing
- Alterations with the Charleston Police department and the South Carolina State Guard
- Performing one or any combination of sewing as well as blind stitch, post, sleeve, and cylinder
- Hand-sewing techniques
Other duties may be assigned by the supervisor.
Minimum Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED
- Must have a minimum of 3 years sewing experience
- Knowledge of industrial sewing machines, and hand sewing techniques
- Experience performing alterations
- Customer service skills
