SEAS Recreation Assistant - Volleyball

Position: Recreation Assistant - Volleyball (Seasonal - SEAS)

Hourly Rate: $ 15.00 - $15.50 (no benefits)

Job Summary:

Barnstable Recreation is seeking enthusiastic and responsible individuals to serve as Volleyball Recreation Assistants for our Fall Youth Volleyball Program. This seasonal role is ideal for those who enjoy working with children and have a passion for volleyball.

Recreation Assistants are responsible for leading and supervising volleyball activities, ensuring a safe and positive environment for participants in grades 2-5. Assistants will deliver age appropriate instruction and drills in accordance with the Recreation Division's standards and policies.

Responsibilities:

• Supervise and coach youth volleyball participants in a fun supportive setting
• Implement practice plans and skill-building activities
• Promote good sportsmanship, teamwork, and safety at all times
• Ensure all equipment is used appropriately and safely
• Communicate effectively with participants, and Recreation staff

Preferred Qualifications:

• Knowledge of volleyball rules, techniques, and gameplay
• Prior experience playing or coaching volleyball
• Experience working with children in a group setting
• Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills
• First Aid, CPR, and AED certification

Program Schedule:

• Grades 4&5: Tuesday & Thursday, Sept. 22, 2026 - Nov. 5, 2026, 2:30 PM - 4:30 PM
• Grades 2&3: Saturdays, Sept. 12, 2026 - Nov. 31, 2026, 10:00 AM - 11:00 AM
