Seasonal AM Prep Cook

La Colombe d’Or Hotel is seeking a reliable and hardworking Seasonal AM Prep Cook / Porter to join our culinary team.

We are a chef-driven boutique hotel looking for someone who takes pride in their work, stays organized, and understands the importance of strong preparation and a clean kitchen. This is a hands-on morning position combining culinary prep with general kitchen and porter responsibilities.

This is a great opportunity for someone looking to gain experience in a professional, quality-driven kitchen while working alongside an experienced culinary team.

Responsibilities

• Complete daily prep lists and assigned production
• Vegetable and herb preparation, portioning, and basic knife work
• Assist with sauces, dressings, stocks, garnishes, and other mise en place
• Follow recipes and portion standards consistently
• Receive, organize, and properly store deliveries
• Maintain walk-ins, dry storage, and prep areas
• Label, date, rotate, and properly store products using FIFO
• Maintain a clean and organized workstation throughout the shift
• Assist with dishes, pots, pans, smallwares, and general porter duties as needed
• Remove trash, recycling, and cardboard and maintain BOH cleanliness
• Assist the culinary team wherever needed to prepare for service

What We’re Looking For

• Previous professional kitchen experience preferred
• Basic knife and food preparation skills
• Strong work ethic and sense of urgency
• Dependable and punctual
• Clean, organized, and detail-oriented
• Able to follow recipes and direction
• Team-oriented attitude and willingness to help wherever needed
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. and work on your feet for extended periods
• Morning, weekend, and holiday availability as needed
