Pay Rate:

  • $23.00 (DOE)
  • 1 Position Available

Work Schedule: 40 hours per week max. Flexible. 7 days a week with potential weekend and evening work.

Position Overview: Do you have a passion for water safety and a knack for high-level leadership? Ready to take on a vital role overseeing the safety and success of our entire summer swim season? Join our team as the Aquatics Coordinator and lead the daily operations, staff, and safety protocols of the City of Billings municipal swimming pools. The Aquatics Coordinator works as the primary lead to ensure all facilities operate safely, efficiently, and professionally while mentoring Pool Managers and Lifeguards.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee comprehensive daily pool operations and facility management across locations
  • Lead the scheduling, training, supervision, and professional development of all aquatic staff
  • Ensure rigorous adherence to pool safety standards, health codes, and city policies
  • Manage mechanical operations, chemical balancing, and facility oversight
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for public relations and complex guest concerns
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe environment for staff and patrons
  • Work collaboratively with Recreation leadership to hit seasonal programming goals
  • Provide expert-level care and elite customer service to the Billings community

Qualifications and Skills

Minimum Qualifications & Skills:

  • Must be at least 18 years of age (21+ preferred)
  • Exceptional leadership and communication skills
  • Proven ability to manage large teams and oversee complex pool operations
  • Unwavering commitment to providing a safe and enjoyable experience for all patrons
  • Previous experience in aquatic management or as a Head Lifeguard required
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule including evenings and weekends. 40 hours per week maximum

Additional Requirements:

  • American Red Cross Lifeguarding, First Aid, and CPR/AED certifications required
  • LGI (Lifeguard Instructor) or CPO (Certified Pool Operator) preferred
