BANQUET COORDINATOR
The Banquet Coordinator works with Property Management, and the Activities Director and facilitates food and catering needs for the activities department. Responsibilities can vary from regular weekly meetings to annual large-scale events, all of which are implemented to the same resort-quality standard. The Banquet Coordinator must maintain a valid Food Handler’s Permit.
Compensation: $18.00 - $18.25 Hourly
Schedule: Monday to Friday, shifts may vary, up to 30 hours per week
General Accountabilities
- Prepares and displays all food concessions and/or catering equipment, such as chafing dishes, décor, serving dishes, menus, and utensils, for all events including but not limited to “Taco Salad, “Coffee & Donuts,” “Drive-In Movie,” and “Bingo.”
- Oversees the preparation, service, and cleanup food service at all events to ensure a high quality experience for attendees.
- Attends event-planning meetings and works with the Activities Director and Resort Managers to determine what to order, menu, theme, venue set-up, food lines and servers.
- Assists in overseeing volunteers and work campers to facilitate a positive work environment by answering employee questions or reporting concerns to management.
- Create weekly schedules for kitchen and activities employees.
- Coordinate food service supply orders with the Activities Director, including food, supplies, and equipment.
- Must maintain a valid food handlers permit
- Complete event reports as requested by management.
- Maintain kitchen cleanliness, organization, and high-quality standards.
- Set up and tear down the ballroom for events.
- Pick up supplies and food as needed.
- Position duties and work schedule may change according to business needs at any time or as instructed by management.
Physical Demands
- Occasionally required to move about indoors and outdoors.
- Required to stand, bend, stoop, or be in a stationary position for the duration of the work shift.
- Required to lift, carry, push, and place objects weighing up to 50 pounds with reasonable accommodations.
