The Texas Renaissance Festival is seeking energetic, dependable individuals to serve as Beefeaters, the first point of contact for our guests. In this role, you will greet patrons, verify admission, conduct entry screening, and help ensure a safe and welcoming environment for everyone attending the festival.
Responsibilities:
Welcome patrons with enthusiasm and professionalism in the King's English.
Scan and verify admission tickets, remaining alert for invalid or fraudulent tickets.
Ensure adult and child tickets are used appropriately.
Inspect bags and screen guests for prohibited items, including outside food, and beverages.
Verify that all costume weapons are peace-tied and secured according to Festival policy.
Monitor entry areas for disorderly behavior and report concerns to a supervisor.
Help maintain an orderly and efficient entry process.
Work Environment & Requirements:
This is an outdoor position requiring extensive walking and standing.
Employees work in varying weather conditions, including prolonged exposure to heat and sun.
A Renaissance-period costume is required throughout the workday. The Texas Renaissance Festival provides the Beefeater hat and doublet; employees are responsible for the remaining costume pieces.
Must be comfortable interacting with large crowds and enforcing Festival policies in a courteous, professional manner.
Seasonal position only
Festival operates 8 weekends, October 10 – November 29, including Friday, November 27
Mandatory training day on September 19th
Mandatory dress rehearsal on October 3rd
