SEASONAL CLERK/PARK KEEPERSALARY: $11.00 per hourGENERAL DESCRIPTION OF DUTIES: The overall purpose and general responsibilitiesUnder administrative direction of the Division Park Manager, has the responsibility of greeting park guests, and providing the public with general information of the park rules and its amenities. Is a temporary non-supervisory position. Accountable for following the park policies and the collection of monies for services rendered. Exercise proper customer ethics to remedy disgruntled guests. ORGANIZATIONAL RELATIONSHIPS: General point of contactReports to Division Park Manager or Assistant Park Manager.Communicates with the public, park guests, gate attendants and other co-workers.ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: The fundamental duties and tasks which define the jobResponsible for greeting guests and customers in a proper courteous and professional manner. Provide the public with information regarding the amenities of the parks, park hours, fees and park policies.Direct complaints to proper division manager, or assistant manager. Receive and transmit radio communications with office and other park division staff.Responsible for general park duties including: litter collection, maintaining beach areas and entrance areas to remain free of any litter.EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:A High School Diploma or G.E.D. Certificate is preferred. Must have good people person skills, and good cooperative working relationships with other employees. Must enjoy working with the public, have good verbal communication skills, and be able to present a professional image. Must enjoy working in an outdoor setting, be physically fit. Ability to speak English/Spanish is desirable. References will be thoroughly checked.LICENSES AND / OR CERTIFICATIONS:Valid State of Texas Driver's License with good driving record is preferred but not required.KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES: Must be able to follow oral instructions. Must be able to perform strenuous work in on outdoor setting. Ability to communicate effectively, both in both English and Spanish. Must be able to establish and maintain effective and cooperative working relationships with the public and other employees.Physical Demands: Physical requirements may include lifting or carrying up to 50 lbs. Subject to handling, sitting, walking, standing, bending, reaching and twisting to perform the essential job functions.Working Condition: (describe working environment and other conditions of employment)Working conditions will be in an outdoor setting, but on occasions may be subject to office work. Will be required to occasionally drive a county owned vehicle and use equipment as needed. Weekend, Holiday and Evening work required.This is not a Civil Service covered position.AA/EEO/MFD EMPLOYER
