Job Description and Duties
As the state's federally mandated Medicaid Fraud Control Unit (MFCU), the Division of Medi-Cal Fraud and Elder Abuse (DMFEA) works aggressively to investigate and prosecute fraudulent activities and the illegal diversion of health care resources from California's most vulnerable citizens.
DMFEA is looking for a Seasonal Clerk who can exercise a high degree of initiative, independence, and professionalism in the performance of a variety of duties, providing light clerical and administrative assistance to DMFEA staff. Under the supervision of a Special Agent-in-Charge, Special Agent Supervisor, or Crime Analyst Supervisor, the Seasonal Clerk will act as the front-desk receptionist, performing basic receptionist duties and providing clerical support to DMFEA staff members. The Seasonal Clerk will also provide assistance to the Investigative and Prosecutions Branches as needed. Duties will include, but are not limited to: answering multi-line telephones; taking concise and detailed messages; directing visitors to appropriate staff or office; escorting vendors; typing, editing, and revising documents; alphabetizing and filing documents; scheduling and arranging conference rooms; completing daily courier/mail sorting and distribution; preparation for interviews, meetings, or other office functions; setting up of conference rooms; scheduling appointments, meetings, and conference calls; and assisting with clerical, purchasing, administrative support for investigative casework, including organizing files, preparing investigative materials, maintaining records, and coordinating functions related to special reports, office events, and projects.
