Job Description:
This temporary position serves as a member of the Development team. The Development team is primarily responsible for carrying out core fundraising initiatives to support the mission of the Museum.
This Development Assistant supports the Operations and Engagement workstream of the Development Department in daily operations, with a primary focus on data entry, gift processing, writing and mailing donor acknowledgement letters, and assisting with donor engagement.
This position requires on-site work at the Museum offices and exposure to sensitive information necessitating considerable use of integrity, discretion, and good judgment.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities

- Gift processing functions: entering and recording gifts, producing invoices and receipts, writing and mailing acknowledgement letters, tracking recognition, maintaining and
- updating donor records, and reporting
- Drafts proposals and donor communication materials. Produces proposal packets, gift agreements
- Supports engagement activities including, but not limited to: pulling invitation lists, drafting and sending event invitations (print and Mailchimp), tracking RSVPs, onsite
- support including check-in/greeting, submitting vendor invoices, and coordinating post-event thank you messages
- Other duties may include, but are not limited to maintaining donor files; answering telephone calls/emails; and receiving and distributing mail and correspondences

Education, Formal & Informal Experience, Training Required, Certification, Etc.
- At least 1 - 2 years of experience in data entry or administrative skills
- High level of proficiency with Google suite, Microsoft Office Suite, Adobe, and donor database experience preferred (Blackbaud Altru or Raiser's Edge preferred)
