Position Description

Position Description:

The Election Supply Clerk works in a fast-paced warehouse environment that requires strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and the ability to effectively manage multiple tasks. Work is performed under the supervision of a Team Lead, who provides training, instruction, and guidance to ensure the employee becomes proficient in work processes, task sequencing, and established procedures and performance standards for completing assigned duties. The primary responsibilities of this position include learning and applying established procedures and practices for receiving, inventorying, and accounting for election materials and supplies; assembling, packing, and distributing voting supplies and equipment to voting centers during the election cycle; and supporting inventory control activities. Employees are also responsible for learning and performing supply distribution and equipment return processes, as well as completing other related duties as assigned.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Sort, count, and organize election inventory, including forms, manuals, supplies, and other materials, into designated quantities for packaging, labeling, storage, and distribution to authorized voting centers during the election cycle.
  • Assemble supply boxes, judges' boxes, supply cabinets, and other election materials while supporting warehouse inventory management and supply chain operations.
  • Cross-train and perform a variety of warehouse and supply chain functions, including records archiving, Election Day supply distribution, and the receipt and return of supplies and equipment for Early Voting and Election Day operations. Some assignments may be performed at alternate work locations and outside of the regular work schedule.
  • Provide support to the election call center by responding to requests for supply replenishment, assisting election judges in locating forms and materials, documenting calls, and updating the status of requests in the designated electronic tracking system.
  • Prepare forms, documents, and election supplies for storage by stocking shelves, stacking pallets, and organizing materials in designated storage areas. Operate a pallet jack to safely move heavy or oversized materials in accordance with established safety procedures.
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and organized warehouse environment by removing damaged or obsolete materials and disposing of them in accordance with established recycling and disposal procedures.
  • Deliver election supplies and materials to designated voting centers as needed to support election operations.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.
  • Must possess dependable transportation to travel to alternate work locations and voting centers, as required.

Requirements

Must meet all eligibility requirements to register to vote in the State of Texas.

Education:

  • High School Diploma or G.E.D. equivalent from an accredited educational institution.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Ability to lift 35 - 50 pounds.
  • Attentive to detail and consistently thorough.
  • Ability to use basic warehouse assisting equipment (pallet jacks, conveyor belts, laminators, etc.).
  • Must stand/walk for extended periods as required by the work being performed and bend to lift or move various work-related items.
  • Excessive pushing/pulling and lifting required.
  • Able to twist, turn, kneel, stoop, bend, lift and carry supplies and equipment weighing up to 50 pounds using appropriate and proper lifting techniques and tools.

General Information

Position Type and Typical Hours of Work:

  • Temp Full-time | Position End Date: 12/18/2026 - This is a temporary position being onboarded through a Harris County-contracted agency.

  • Monday - Friday | 8:00 A.M. - 4:30 P.M.

  • 40 hours/week | Ability to work long hours during election cycles. | Hours can be up to 18 hours.

  • Overtime hours as required to include weekend and holidays.

  • Blackout dates will be provided.
