GENERAL DESCRIPTION:

Wyoming Pioneer Memorial Museum, Camp Douglas Officers' Club State Historic Site, and Fort Fetterman State Historic Site are exceptional historical sites located in Douglas, Wyoming. Fort Fetterman is 8 miles from Douglas and sits on the high plains of the Bozeman Trail overlooking the beautiful North Platte River. Camp Douglas Officers' Club is the only building still standing in its original location from the WWII era, when Douglas had a POW camp that housed German and Italian POWs. The Wyoming Pioneer Memorial Museum, located on the Wyoming State Fairgrounds, is a large two-story museum that offers visitors a well-rounded historical perspective of Wyoming from its prehistoric Mammoth bones to the Pioneers who shaped our state. The Oregon, Mormon, California, Bozeman, and Pony Express trails all pass through Douglas, offering views of the Laramie Mountain Range and the Medicine Bow National Forest, where the North Platte River runs, providing hiking, fishing, and camping opportunities just minutes away. Two different types of seasonal positions are to be filled as part of this announcement: Maintenance and Visitor Services.
