Waste Connections is seeking a Seasonal Excavator Operator to join our Madera Disposal team in Suisun City, CA!

Schedule : Monday-Friday 9-10 hours per day, starting at 7am. This project will last until the end of October and will pick back up again in the Spring for about 6 more months. This timeframe is dependent on weather and is subject to change.

Compensation : Starting pay begins at $60-65 per hour, based on experience.

Duties and Responsibilities :

+ Operate excavator, and other equipment on site as needed.

+ Excavate, relocate, and grade soil as needed as part of landfill cell construction.

+ Conduct routine inspections and maintenance of equipment.

Working Conditions :

+ Work is performed outdoors in varying weather conditions, including extreme heat, cold, and occasional rain.

+ The environment may be dusty, noisy, and require the use of personal protective equipment (PPE), such as hearing protection, gloves, and safety boots.

+ There will be exposure to machinery and heavy equipment, so safety protocols and precautions are strictly followed.

Minimum Job Requirements :

+ 2+ years of experience operating an excavator on slopes

+ Ability to

+ Read and interpret construction plans

+ Establish and maintain grade accurately

+ Excavate and load trucks efficiently on sloped terrain

+ Operate GPS machine control systems proficiently

+ Work safely and productively in an earth moving construction environment

+ GPS experience preferred

+ Ability to work both independently and as part of a team

+ Great attention to detail

+ Must pass a pre-employment background check and drug screen

+ Ability to work effectively in various outdoor conditions, including exposure to weather elements, and a dynamic work environment.
