Position Overview

This seasonal summer ( May1st-Nov1st) position is a hands-on role performing the maintenance and overall care of Wolfe's Neck Center's large campus. This person reports to, and takes direction from, the Facilities & Grounds Manager and works collaboratively with staff and volunteers. Expect to work closely with an energetic, professional, and positive team to keep up with all aspects of grounds and buildings care. From a 150-site campground, to farm infrastructure, trails, event spaces, and more; this position will work across all areas of the Facilities and Grounds team's responsibilities.

 

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Operating a variety of maintenance and grounds equipment, including trucks, trailers, zero-turn mowers, weed wackers, power tools, etc.
  • Reporting items in need of repair to a supervisor.
  • Timely response to work orders and related emergency needs.
  • Performing minor mechanical work and adjustments of all building maintenance and grounds equipment.
  • Cleaning and operating equipment and vehicles as directed and in accordance with department standards.
  • Prioritizing a safe work environment, and safe work practices across a busy property of visitors, guests, children, and staff.
  • Assisting with campus setup and breakdown for programs and events.
  • Using maintenance software for organizing and completing work orders and preventative maintenance tasks.
  • Moving furniture and equipment within buildings and to/from trucks as required.
  • May perform painting.
  • Regular attendance is required.
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a team is essential.

Qualifications

  • Prefered: Hands-on experience in at least one of the following trades: vehicle maintenance, landscaping, carpentry/construction, building maintenance.
  • Ability to learn new skills, assess problems quickly, and work collaboratively as part of a high-functioning team.
  • Strong time management and planning skills with the ability to adapt to immediate daily needs.
  • Valid Maine driver's license with a satisfactory driving record.
  • Ability to work in adverse weather conditions.
  • Ability to work a variable schedule, including occasional evenings, weekends, holidays, and emergency call-ins.
