We're hiring Seasonal Landscape Laborers to assist with landscaping, grounds maintenance, and outdoor improvement projects throughout the Harrisonburg area. This position is ideal for dependable, hard-working individuals who enjoy working outdoors and performing physically demanding work in a team-oriented environment.

Position Overview

As a Seasonal Landscape Laborer, you will assist with the installation, maintenance, and enhancement of commercial and residential landscapes. Responsibilities include planting, mowing, trimming, mulching, irrigation support, debris removal, and general landscape maintenance. Successful candidates will have a strong work ethic, attention to detail, and the ability to work safely and efficiently in various weather conditions.

Schedule

• Full-time seasonal position
• Monday through Friday schedule (may vary by project)
• Start and end times will be assigned by the supervisor
• Overtime and weekend work may be required based on project needs, weather conditions, and operational demands

Key Responsibilities

• Plant, transplant, and maintain trees, shrubs, flowers, and other landscape materials
• Mow grass, trim hedges, edge walkways, and maintain landscape beds
• Remove weeds, leaves, trash, and other debris from assigned areas
• Assist with the installation of mulch, soil, irrigation systems, and landscape features
• Load, unload, and transport landscaping materials and equipment
• Operate lawn mowers, weed trimmers, leaf blowers, shovels, rakes, and other landscaping tools safely
• Follow all safety procedures and wear required personal protective equipment (PPE)
• Maintain tools and equipment in good working condition
• Work closely with Crew Leads and Supervisors to complete projects on schedule
• Report safety concerns, equipment issues, or job site hazards promptly
• Maintain a professional appearance and positive attitude at all times

Qualifications

Required:

• Authorized to work in the United States
• Reliable transportation to assigned job sites
• Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds
• Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, and perform physical labor throughout the shift
• Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions
• Strong attendance and reliability
• Ability to follow directions and work effectively as part of a team

Preferred:

• Previous landscaping, lawn care, construction, or general labor experience
• Experience operating landscaping equipment and hand tools
• Basic knowledge of plant care and landscape maintenance practices

Working Conditions

• Frequent standing, walking, bending, kneeling, and lifting
• Exposure to varying weather conditions, including heat, cold, rain, and humidity
• Work performed outdoors on uneven terrain and active job sites
• Use of landscaping equipment, tools, and machinery
• Exposure to dust, dirt, grass, mulch, and other outdoor elements
