Seasonal Lifeguard

The role of a Lifeguard is essential to safe pool and aquatics operations. It requires alertness, focus, attention to detail, and professionalism, coupled with a positive, outgoing attitude so that customers feel at ease and relaxed knowing you are around. Shift: Saturday 1:45pm through 8pm, Sunday 7:30am through 2pm or Sunday 1:45pm through 8pm. Location: Long Island City, NY 11109 YOUR MISSION To create a safe, incident-free swimming environment so that customers enjoy their time in the pool and aquatic amenities WHAT YOULL DO Greet and welcome customers who come to use the pool (and related amenities)Take water readings and adjust chemicals in the pool as neededSupervise the pool and pool area at all times while on shiftTake action to make sure pool rules are enforcedKeep detailed daily logs of water readings and number of bathersClose the pool and take remedial action in the event of any hazardsOrganize logs for monthly submissionMaintain cleanliness of pool by regularly brushing the water line on the pool walls, wiping down railings, folding towels, squeegee and mop pool deck, among other tasks or side work
