Job Description: Merchandise Handler

The Merchandise Handler is responsible for handling and maintaining the flow of materials and inventory according to department Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) using a combination of manual labor and low complexity machinery/equipment.

Job Responsibilities

• Apply basic math skills to verify and adjust quantities and accurately fulfill orders
• Utilize Warehouse Management Systems (WMS), radio frequency (RF) scanners, and other equipment to complete job duties
• Safely operate non-motorized equipment to transport inventory
• Responsible for opening containers, moving materials within the distribution center, loading, unloading, and storing materials, supplies, and equipment, and documenting and organizing materials
• Ability to perform functions that include bending, twisting, and lifting items weighing up to 50 pounds, including above and below shoulder level for the majority of the shift
• Adhere to all company safety protocols to ensure a safe work environment

Minimum Salary: $17.50

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years of age
• High school diploma or equivalent preferred
• Prior experience in a distribution warehouse or logistics environment is a plus
• Attention to detail
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
• Ability to stand for the duration of shift with breaks
• Ability to multitask
• Self-motivated and team-oriented
