Surface Water Management is hiring five (5) team-oriented, reliable applicants to be a part of the Noxious Weed team's efforts to control noxious weeds throughout Snohomish County in compliance with all applicable State and Federal laws.
If you are passionate about ecological field work, this seasonal position is a great opportunity! You will work on a crew performing a variety of duties involved in noxious weeds work, including surveying & mapping noxious weed populations and controlling them using Integrated Pest Management strategies. Control methods include manual, mechanical, biocontrol, chemical, and cultural.
This job is ideal for anyone looking for an opportunity to see all that Snohomish County has to offer while also assisting in protecting our native ecosystems from the spread of noxious weeds. You will primarily work in an outdoor environment with exposure to all types of weather and terrain, varying degrees of traffic, and occasional contact with citizens. In this role you will be working near traffic and around chemicals and equipment. This position requires the ability to walk in a variety of outdoor terrains, including wading through flowing rivers and muddy salt marshes, with up to 50 lbs on your back.
You will enjoy three-day weekends as the regular working hours are from 6:30 am to 5:00 pm Monday through Thursday. Occasional evening or weekend work hours possible. Once hired you may request to schedule unpaid time off, as needed and subject to approval. This seasonal position will end on or before 10/30/2026.

A valid State of Washington Driver's License is required for this position.
A current or past Washington State Department of Agriculture Pesticide License, with Aquatic Pest Control and/or Right-of-Way Weed Control endorsements, is desired for this position.
