The State is accepting online applications for available Seasonal Park Ranger Program Coordinator positions.
Illustrative Examples of Work Performed:
The Program Coordinator assists in the administration of the Seasonal Park Ranger Program. This position will function as the head Park Ranger and will assist with the coordination and implementation of training policies and directives. This position will train other Park Rangers on the Division's report writing guidelines, voluntary compliance standards, monitoring tactics, and park visitor interaction guidelines. This position will also ensure all Park Rangers are aware of safe vehicle operations and traffic management strategies.
Required Qualifications for Appointment:
Previous law enforcement, Park Ranger supervisory experience, or criminal justice education is preferred. Candidates must possess a valid RI Driver's License and be available to work nights and weekends as needed. State Parks experience high visitation during peak periods such as weekends and holidays, therefore weekend and holiday shifts are expected. Applicants must be at least 18 years of age.
