Seasonal Parks Laborer

CLOSING DATE: Open until Filled

PAY RATE: $14.21 - $17.05 (depending on experience)

SCHEDULE: Monday - Thursday ORFriday - Sunday

• Hours range from 6 am to 4:30 pm (Schedule to be determined at interview.)

DEPARTMENT: Parks

Performs a variety of duties related to the maintenance of:

• Park Grounds
• Sports Fields
• Irrigation Systems
• Trails
• Open space
• Urban Forestry
• Maintaining and cleaning restrooms and pavilions
• Helping with Events (includes some weekends)

• Experience preferred in caring for grounds with a wide range of skills.
• Including, but not limited to, general landscaping and irrigation work.
• Ability to lift a minimum of 50 pounds.
• Ability to communicate.
• Ability to learn to operate and maintain maintenance equipment such as mowers, chain saws, pruning equipment, and hand tools.
• Ability to develop effective working relationships with supervisor, co-workers, and the public.
• Must pass a background and drug test.
• Must be 16 years old or older (Preference will be given to applicants 18 and older with a valid driver's license).
