The seasonal restaurant host must be available to work from April through the end of September or October.
The Restaurant Host is responsible for managing guest reception and seating arrangements, ensuring optimal dining room operations, and maintaining a professional atmosphere.
Greet and welcome guests in a professional manner upon arrival
Obtain and record essential dining information from guests, including dietary requirements and special occasions
Strategically manage dining room seating arrangements, anticipating business fluctuations to maximize efficiency
Implement organized seating protocols to maintain optimal service flow for servers
Conduct regular, thorough inspections of restaurant areas, promptly reporting any equipment deficiencies or aesthetic issues through appropriate channels
Maintain a clean and safe working environment in compliance with health and safety regulations
Actively participate in and promote adherence to health and safety initiatives
High school diploma or equivalent required
1-2 years of experience in a customer-facing role, preferably in hospitality
Previous experience in a luxury establishment preferred
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Proficiency in restaurant reservation systems
Self-motivated, with the ability to make effective decisions
Demonstrates initiative, and the ability to work with minimal supervision
Ability to deliver exceptional service levels under pressure
Ability to multitask and prioritize in a fast-paced environment
Flexible schedule, including nights, weekends, and holidays
Knowledge of food safety and sanitation practices
Basic math skills for managing wait times and table assignments
Physically fit to stand and walk for the duration of the shift
Familiarity with point-of-sale (POS) systems a plus
