JOB SUMMARY

Seasonal Posting

Under the general supervision of the Director of Revenue Services or designee, performs a broad range of customer service, cashiering, permit processing, citation administration, and clerical support duties within Revenue Services. Provides assistance to residents and the public regarding tax payments, parking and civil citations, permits, recreation registrations, marina services, related City programs. Processes financial transactions, maintains records across multiple software systems, and provides information regarding City policies, procedures, fees, and services.

Serves as a primary point of contact for residents and visitors, including providing bilingual customer assistance when needed, resolving issues, explaining regulations and payment requirements, and ensuring accurate processing of revenue-related transactions. Performs related work as required.

EXAMPLES OF DUTIES

• Accepts and processes tax payments, including motor vehicle, personal property, real estate, sewer, and business taxes.
• Provides information regarding tax bills, payment due dates, fees, delinquent balances, and related procedures.
• Processes parking citations, civil citations, boot payments, and related enforcement transactions using multiple City software systems.
• Processes permit payment for beach permits, marina permits, parking permits, residential permits, recreation registrations, and related programs.
• Assists customers with establishing online accounts and navigating permit portals and electronic application systems.
• Reviews applications and supporting documentation for completeness and compliance with established requirements.
• Processes mail-in payments and correspondence; updates records and redirects documents as appropriate.
• Maintains and updates customer information within multiple City software applications and databases.
• Performs daily batch balancing and financial reconciliation activities.
• Assists customers regarding parking appeals, violation hearings, and citation review procedures.
• Provides customer assistance regarding recreation programs, field rentals, marina access, pavilion reservations, and City services.
• May provide communication assistance to residents and supports communication needs across departments when necessary.
• Responds to customer inquiries by telephone, email, and in person while maintaining a professional and customer-focused approach.
• Assists with virtual hearing support and related administrative functions as assigned.
• Processes payments received by cash, check, electronic payment, and credit card in accordance with established procedures.
• Performs related duties as assigned.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Graduation from high school or possession of a GED and two (2) years of experience involving customer service, cashiering, clerical support, revenue collection, permit processing, financial transactions, or related administrative work.

Preferred Requirements: Municipal revenue, permitting, parking enforcement, or public sector experience preferred. Bilingual English/Spanish proficiency preferred.

If the position is a seasonal/temporary position, it is not eligible for union benefits.
