Seasonal Summer Groundskeeper Helper (Temporary)

Job Description

• Operate multiple types of power equipment for the purposes maintaining the school grounds, such as-riding mowers, push mowers, trimmers, chain saws, trenchers, sod cutters, etc. to maintain the grounds district-wide.
• Ability to use small hand tools for trimming trees, bushes, and other vegetation
• Prepping and painting interior and exterior surfaces
• Moving classroom furniture within buildings and between building locations.
• Ability to work effectively alone on all projects with little to no superivision.
• Ablitliy to communicate effectivily verbally, in writing, and email.
• Other duties may be assigned by Maintenance Department Supervisor.

Minimum Qualifications

To perform this job successfully, an individual must meet the following criteria:

• Current High School student, High School Graduate, or GED.
• Must have a valid Washington state driver's license.
• Ability to apply common sense understanding to complete detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions.
• Physical ability to walk, use hands to use tools and/or equipment, unrestricted range of motion, able to stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
• Physical ability to frequently lift and/or move 25 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 lbs.
• Must have a clean driving record and pass a driving abstract background check.

Work Environment

• While performing the duties of this job:
• The employee regularly works outside
• The employee frequently works near/around moving mechanical parts
• The employee is occasionally exposed to vibration

Terms of Employment

Starting Date: TBD

Salary: WA State Minimum Wage

Hours: 8 hours/day maximum

Contracted Days: Maximum of 120 workdays
