Position Overview

Salary: $14.00 - $16.00 per hour

Work Schedule: Monday - Friday evenings

Weekly Hours: 10-20 hours per week (varies by season and programs offered)

Position Overview

We are seeking enthusiastic, patient, and energetic individuals to join our team as Youth Sports Coaches. In this role, you will introduce young athletes to the fundamentals of sports while fostering teamwork, sportsmanship, and a love for physical activity. You will lead structured practices and recreational games, ensuring a safe, positive, and encouraging environment for children. This position is ideal for former athletes, teachers, or students looking for rewarding, hands-on, part-time work that directly impacts the community. ARC Youth Sports Coaches may have the opportunity to work additional hours in various roles such as concessions staff, front desk staff, or tournament & event support staff (if desired).

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead drills that teach basic sports mechanics, coordination, and game rules to youth athletes.
  • Implement structured, age-appropriate lesson plans
  • Coach recreational games, manage player rotations, and ensure equal play time for all participants.
  • Promote positive sportsmanship, teamwork, resilience, and fair play among team members.
  • Greet parents before and after sessions to provide brief updates on schedules or player progress.

Qualifications and Skills

Minimum Qualifications & Skills

  • Must be at least 16 years of age.
  • Passion for sports and working with children
  • Outstanding communication skills to explain rules and drills in simple, engaging terms.
  • Strong leadership abilities to keep groups of children focused, active, and organized.

Additional Requirements

  • Ability to run, jump, demonstrate athletic movements, and remain active for 2-hour shifts.
  • Dependable transit to ensure punctual arrival at assigned local parks or school gyms.
