Job Summary Seeking an experienced Seat Engineer with strong expertise in automotive seating system design and development, from concept through mass production.
Title: Seat Engineer Location: Raymond, OH
Key Responsibilities
Design and develop automotive seating systems and components, including sheet metal and plastics.
Create and review 3D, 2D, and 3DA designs using CATIA V5/V6 with strong surface modeling skills.
Develop designs considering packaging, styling, vehicle regulations, and performance requirements.
Apply knowledge of FMVSS, ECE, and occupant safety regulations.
Apply DFM/DFA principles to seating component design.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams for design reviews and module-level integration.
Coordinate with offshore teams to ensure quality and project timelines.
Support DFMEA, DVP, and functional safety activities through project milestones.
Review CAE simulation results and incorporate recommendations into product designs.
Support design optimization, cost reduction, manufacturability, and structural performance.
Track project status against milestones and support timely delivery of system requirements.
Lead system integration activities and resolve design-related issues.
Required Qualifications
10+ years of experience in automotive seating system design and development.
Strong CATIA V5/V6 experience.
Strong understanding of automotive design, packaging, manufacturing, and safety requirements.
Experience taking components from concept through production.
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
