Overview of Position
Serves as a technical support establishing and maintaining attendance, truancy, medical and other records that affect student attendance. Monitors, maintains, tracks, documents and processes student attendance, discipline and legal documents and release files and records, ensuring compliance with District, State and Federal regulations and policies. Represents the District in attendance related proceedings, monitors student teachers assistants performing entering data into PowerSchool for accuracy and responds to inquiries requesting student attendance information. Periodically provides medical attention to students.
The person filling this role with be joining a strong team dedicated to serving our multicultural and multilingual population. For this position, a high level of Spanish fluency is desired. Additionally, we are seeking applicants with a high level of cultural competency and experience working with bilingual immigrant and refugee students and families. The ability to partner and collaborate with families to create solutions to any barriers to fully participate in school is essential.

RESPONSIBILITY:
Responsibilities include: working under limited supervision following standardized practices and/or methods; providing information and/or advising others; and operating within a defined budget. Utilization of some resources from other work units may be required to perform the jobs functions. There is some opportunity to significantly impact the Organizations services.
WORKING ENVIRONMENT:
The usual and customary methods of performing the jobs functions require the following physical demands: some lifting, carrying, pushing, and/or pulling; and significant fine finger dexterity. Generally the job requires 70% sitting, 10% walking, and 20% standing. The job is performed under a generally hazard free environment.
Typical Qualifications
EDUCATION:
High school graduation or GED equivalent.
PREFERRED EDUCATION:
AA Degree (Administration Office Professional or Business Technical)
YEARS of RELEVANT EXPERIENCE:
Two (2) years of secretarial/clerical work experience that included record keeping and/or statistical work.
PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:
Five (5) years of relevant experience in an educational office setting, preferably High School.
SUBSTITUTION:
One (1) year of college or business school may substitute for one year of the required work experience on a month-for-month basis.
REQUIRED TESTING:
None.
CERTIFICATES & LICENSES:
Valid State of Washington Drivers License or equivalent mobility; CPR
CONTINUING EDUCATION/TRAINING:
PowerSchool, SAP
