    Job Summary: The CDL Driver/Laborer is responsible for the safe operation of commercial vehicles equipped with dump bodies to transport and unload materials essential for utility construction projects, with a focus on natural gas and underground utilities. This role also involves performing various manual labor tasks to support construction activities, ensuring adherence to all safety and operational standards.

    Responsibilities:
    • Operate and maintain commercial vehicles (CDL Class A or B) with dump bodies to transport and unload materials such as sand, gravel, and construction equipment.
    • Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections to ensure vehicle safety and compliance with Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations.
    • Load and unload equipment and materials, ensuring proper securing of loads to prevent shifting or damage during transit.
    • Comprehensive understanding of DOT regulations and safety compliance related to commercial vehicle operation.
    • Proficiency in operating heavy equipment and commercial vehicles in various construction environments.
    • Ability to read and interpret construction plans, specifications, and safety guidelines.
    • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to make informed decisions under pressure.
    • Effective communication skills, both verbal and written, to interact with team members and supervisors.
    • Physical stamina and dexterity to perform labor-intensive tasks in diverse weather conditions.
    • Commitment to teamwork and collaboration to achieve project goals efficiently.
    • Assist in various construction tasks, including but not limited to:
      • Excavation and trenching for underground utility installations.
      • Installation and maintenance of natural gas pipelines and related infrastructure.
      • Backfilling and compaction of excavated areas.
      • Restoration of work sites, including paving and landscaping.
    • Maintain cleanliness and readiness of vehicles, tools, and equipment.
    • Adhere to all company safety protocols, including the proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and participation in safety meetings.
    • Communicate effectively with team members, supervisors, and site personnel to ensure efficient workflow and address any issues promptly.
    • Complete and maintain accurate records, including vehicle logs, load tickets, and maintenance reports.
    • Perform other duties as assigned to support project completion and company objectives.
    • Frequent standing, walking, bending, kneeling, and crouching.
    • Ability to lift and carry materials and equipment weighing up to 50 pounds regularly.
    • Climbing ladders and working at heights as required.
    • Extended periods of sitting and driving.
    Education/Experience:
    • Valid CDL Class A or B license with a clean driving record.
    • Valid DOT Medical Examiner's Certificate.
