Job SummaryF3EA is seeking qualified Second Engineers to support maritime operations aboard operational vessels supporting dynamic mission requirements. This position is responsible for supporting the safe operation, maintenance, inspection, and repair of vessel engineering systems while ensuring compliance with company standards, safety requirements, and operational directives.Roles and ResponsibilitiesAssist the Chief Engineer and First Engineer with operation, maintenance, and repair of vessel systems and machineryMonitor and record engineering plant data and maintain engine room logsConduct inspections and preventative maintenance actions as requiredEnsure engineering work is conducted safely and in accordance with established proceduresSupport Permit to Work (PTW) and Safe Job Analysis (SJA) processesReport accidents, near misses, equipment deficiencies, and non-conformitiesParticipate in emergency drills, safety meetings, and vessel readiness activitiesExecute assigned watch-standing duties and engineering operationsSupport cross-functional coordination between engineering and operational departmentsPerform additional duties as assigned in support of vessel operationsSupervisory ResponsibilitiesMay provide task-level oversight and coordination of junior engineering personnel and engine crew.Required Qualifications and EducationValid U.S. Coast Guard Merchant Mariner Credential (MMC) appropriate for positionValid STCW endorsements and required maritime certifications3+ years of maritime engineering experience aboard operational vesselsExperience operating and maintaining marine propulsion and auxiliary systemsAbility to work rotational schedules in maritime environmentsStrong communication and problem-solving skillsU.S. citizenship requiredAbility to obtain and maintain a Department of Defense security clearancePreferred Qualifications and EducationExperience supporting government maritime operationsFamiliarity with Dynamic Positioning (DP) vessel operationsPrior military or government-contracted maritime experienceWork Authorization / Security Clearance RequirementsAbility to obtain and maintain a Department of Defense security clearance.Physical Demands / Work EnvironmentOperational maritime and shipboard environmentExposure to varying weather, vessel motion, and machinery spacesAbility to climb ladders and work in physically demanding environmentsAffirmative Action / EEO StatementF3EA, Inc. is an equal opportunity employer that is committed to diversity and inclusion in the workplace.
