Description: To maintain the physical school plant and grounds in a condition of operating excellence so that full educational use of them may be made at all times.

Qualifications:

  1. Demonstrated ability to plan and schedule cleaning and basic maintenance projects.

  2. Demonstrated ability to supervise other custodial staff.

  3. Ability to work/relate with staff, students, and the public.

  4. Demonstrated ability to perform general cleaning and building maintenance work.

  5. Basic knowledge of computerized HVAC preferred and/or some knowledge of computers in general.

  6. High School Diploma, equivalent, or GED required.

Responsibilities:

  1. Helps in the assignment, scheduling, and training of members of the custodial staff on the shift(s).

  2. Plans and oversees repair work, set up for special events and cleaning, maintaining a high standard of safety, cleanliness, and efficiency.

  3. Monitors the time records of all custodial employees on the shift(s).

  4. Maintains inventories of custodial/maintenance supplies, parts, and equipment.

  5. Keeps buildings and premises, including sidewalks and driveways, neat and clean at all times.

  6. Strives constantly to promote the safety, health, and comfort of the students and employees.

  7. Performs minor maintenance, cleaning, and repair duties.

  8. Maintains all custodial equipment in good working operating order.

  9. Neat and professional in appearance and behavior.

  10. All other duties as assigned by the Building Manager.

Expectations:

  1. Comply with all district, and departmental guidelines and board policies.

  2. Maintain high levels of confidentiality and customer service.

  3. Ability to physically lift and carry 40+ pounds.

  4. Ability to work effectively with staff, students, vendors, and community members.

  5. Neat and professional in appearance and behavior.

Reports to: Building Manager and Operations Supervisor of Buildings and Grounds

Employment: Twelve Months

Benefits: Health, dental, and other benefits are available with this position. The candidate will also qualify for Wisconsin Retirement System benefits.

Salary range: From $23.00, depending on experience in the field
