Responsibilities
Identifies truck problems and services by listening to customer’s description of symptoms; clarifying description of problems; conducting inspections; taking test drives; checking vehicle maintenance records; examining service schedules
- Assists in the Parts Department. Including but not limited to (Assisting customers, Answering Phone calls, Handling walk in customers, Organizing and or taking deliveries to parts customers.
Verifies warranty and service contract coverage by examining records and papers; explaining provisions and exclusions
Develops estimates by costing materials, supplies, labor; and calculating customer’s payment, including deductibles
Prepares repair orders (RO) by describing symptoms, problems, and causes discovered, as well as repairs and services required; obtaining approval signatures; entering RO into service database system
Maintains truck records by recording problems and corrective actions planned
Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading manufacturers’ publications
Enhances organization reputation by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests; exploring opportunities to add value to job accomplishments
Must display a positive and friendly attitude as well as appropriate behavior during work hours
Cleanliness must be maintained in the work area
Qualifications

Must possess the ability to deal tactfully with customers, co-workers, and general public
Must be self-motivated, hardworking, and dependable person
Must possess the ability to be adaptable and willing to perform assignments beyond normal duties when asked
Must possess the ability to follow instructions and to accept constructive feedback
Must have basic knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite
High school diploma or GED equivalent
Computer skills using CDK Dealer Management system and various OEM inventory catalog programs preferred
1 year Heavy Duty Truck experience preferred
1 year service writing experience preferred
