Primary Purpose:
Provide curriculum leadership and support classroom teaching to ensure an aligned and articulated instructional program in the subject area assigned. Ensure that the development and delivery of curriculum and the instructional program is effective and efficient, incorporates district goals, and supports student achievement. Analyze and interpret data and make program recommendations to improve student success.
Qualifications:
Education/Certification:
Master's degree from accredited university with a major in assigned subject
Valid Texas teaching certificate with required endorsements for subject assigned
Special Knowledge/Skills:
Knowledge of curriculum design and implementation
Knowledge
of state and federal accountability systems
Ability
to interpret data and evaluate instruction programs and teaching effectiveness
Ability
to develop and deliver training to adult learners
Ability
to implement policy and procedures
Strong
organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills
Experience:
5 years teaching experience in subject area assigned
Experience in an instructional leadership role (preferred)
Major Responsibilities and Duties:

- Work collaboratively with the Assistant Superintendent for Elementary Leadership and Learning to develop, communicate, and facilitate the implementation of the elementary curriculum vision.
- Evaluate the curriculum and instruction program effectiveness for elementary based on evaluative findings (including student achievement data) and recommend changes as needed.
- Mentor and coach individuals and groups to identify strengths, areas of potential growth, and the steps to take in improving instructional practices and student achievement through on campus visits (3-4 days a week).
- Keep informed of and comply with state, district, and school regulations, and policies for classroom teachers.
- Collaborate with campus leadership teams, colleagues, other departments, and campus team members to assure consistency in district-wide initiatives.
- Work collaboratively with the Bilingual/ESL Coordinator, Specialized Learning leaders, among other district personnel to promote growth for all students.
- Conduct fidelity walks to gather data reflecting the implementation of high quality instructional materials, identify trends, recommend next steps, and report findings to the Assistant Superintendent of Elementary Leadership and Learning and other stakeholders when needed.
Instructional Leadership and Support
- Plan, coordinate, and provide staff development for elementary teachers, administrators, and staff
- Assist coaches and teachers in tightening the alignment between the written, taught, and tested curriculum.
- Coordinate and provide (when needed) professional development and practices to assist teachers in the implementation of the science of teaching reading and science of learning.
- Provide teachers and campus administrators feedback from walkthroughs, based on district protocols.
- Model instructional strategies and best practices for improving student performance on campuses.
- Participate in curriculum alignment through district/subject/campus/grade level area meetings.
- Conduct campus and district staff development that is aligned with the EISD curriculum resources and supports the District Strategic Plan, District and Campus Plans on a Page.
- Serve as a member of the campus ILT and complete coaching cycles when needed.
