The Position

The qualified candidate will provide instruction in English Language Arts and Social Studies by utilizing research-based instructional strategies and interventions to provide student engagement for academic achievement. They will meet the needs of each learner by building trusted and caring relationships, understanding and implementing best practices, creating and utilizing systems of intervention and support, differentiated instruction, and a variety of instructional delivery methods. The candidate must be adept with technology and ready to consider emergent techniques to enhance student achievement.

Education and Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree from an accredited College/University.
  • Secondary Teaching Certification.
  • Michigan Teacher Endorsements of BA and/or BX and RX.
  • Positive interpersonal skills.
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
  • Content area expertise.
  • Knowledge of MTSS Framework.
  • Strong organizational skills including the ability to be detail oriented.

Job Summary

  • Implement English Language Arts and Social Studies curriculum, following the State standards.
  • Design and utilize creative and engaging lesson plans.
  • Utilize a variety of instructional strategies to meet the needs of individual students.
  • Assess students using both formative and summative assessments.
  • Include practical application of content knowledge in lesson plans.
  • Differentiate instruction to meet the needs of each learner.
  • Develop and implement strategies of interventions for individual students.
  • Establish and consistently implement positive classroom management strategies while promoting a safe, respectful, and productive learning environment for each learner.
  • Utilize progress monitoring.
  • Maintain accurate and complete student records.
  • Establish and maintain an effective and cooperative working relationship with all staff, students, and parents.
